Strings Program

The Danville Independent School’s Elementary Beginning Strings Program is starting Monday Oct. 27th for 3rd – 5th grade students. An important parent information meeting will be held on Thursday Oct. 23rd at 3:30 in the music room at Jennie Rogers Elementary. All interested parents and students please attend. If you are interested and can’t make the meeting please contact Jane Dewey, Director of Arts Education, Danville Independent Schools, jane.dewey@danville.kyschools.us. Classes are offered free of charge through funding provided by the Danville Schools Education Foundation and instruction is offered through a collaboration with the Heritage Area Strings Program, HASP.   READ MORE...
Honor our Veterans

To honor our veterans, Hogsett will be participating in a donation project for Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, which is a 285 bed long-term facility that provides skilled nursing care and rehabilitation for veterans. We will be collecting items from Oct. 27-Nov. 11th Each grade level has been assigned a certain item from the list that Thomson-Hood provided to us. Flyers will be copied and sent home in Thursday packets this week. Kindergarten- Bags of Dum-Dum suckers 1st grade- shaving cream 2nd grade- chewing gum 3rd grade- Loofah bath sponges 4th grade- small bottles of bubbles (like anywhere from 4-8 oz size) 5th grade- Suave men hair and body wash NOTE: Other items on their list that you are welcome to donate: Lanyards, sunglasses, puff corn, razors, large print books for men, billfolds and Little Debbie snack cakes  READ MORE...
SPARK after school fitness program

Due to the overwhelming response of students that have signed up for the SPARK after school program being offered through our PEP grant, we are splitting up the days on which students will attend the program. Students in grades K-2 will stay on TUESDAYS, and students in grade 3-5 will stay on THURSDAYS for this awesome program!  READ MORE...
